چکیده

Rotational relaxation of CS2 in argon free jet was studied using laser-induced fluorescence ~LIF!. The rotational populations were obtained from LIF detection at 19 different points along the jet axis from 3 to 15 nozzle diameters. On the basis of the energy gap power law, the master equation was solved to fit the experiment results, and the two temperature-independent parameters in the law were determined. The results show that the state-to-state relaxation cross sections vary as the inverse 1.7 power of the energy gap between the initial and the final states. The expressions for the state-to-state relaxation cross sections and the rate constants were written. The relaxation cross sections decrease with increasing temperature over the range of 2–60 K for the CS21Ar collision. © 1995 American Institute of Physics.

Laser spectroscopy and dynamics of the jet-cooled AsH2 free radical.

The A (2)A(1)-X (2)B(1) electronic transition of the jet-cooled AsH(2) free radical has been studied by laser-induced fluorescence (LIF), wavelength-resolved emission, and fluorescence lifetime measurements. The radical was produced by a pulsed electric discharge through a mixture of arsine (AsH(3)) and high pressure argon at the exit of a pulsed valve. Nine vibronic bands were identified by LI...

Rotationally Resolved Electronic Excitation Spectra of the Ethoxy B - 3 Transition

High-resolution electronic excitation spectra of the 0: and the 9; bands of the near-UV electronic transition of the ethoxy radical have been recorded. The ethoxy radical was produced in a free-jet expansion by photodissociation of ethyl nitrite (CzHsONO). Both spectra have a linewidth of about 400 MHz. A complete rotational analysis of the spectrum indicates that the electronic transition of e...

State Resolved Thermochemical Modeling of Nitrogen Using DSMC

State-resolved analyses of N+N2 are performed using the direct simulation Monte Carlo (DSMC) method. In describing the elastic collisions in a state-resolved method, a statespecific total cross section is proposed. The state-resolved model is constructed from the state-specific total cross section and the state-to-state transition cross sections for boundbound and bound-free transitions taken f...

State-by-state emission spectra fitting for non-equilibrium plasmas: OH spectra of surface barrier discharge at argon/water interface

Optical emission spectroscopy applied to non-equilibrium plasmas in molecular gases can give important information on basic plasma parameters, including the rotational, vibrational temperatures and densities of the investigated radiative states. In order to precisely understand the non-equilibrium of rotational-vibrational state distribution from investigated spectra without limiting presumptio...

High-resolution rovibrational spectroscopy of jet-cooled phenyl radical: the ν19 out-of-phase symmetric CH stretch.

Phenyl radical has been studied via sub-Doppler infrared spectroscopy in a slit supersonic discharge expansion source, with assignments for the highest frequency b2 out-of-phase C-H symmetric stretch vibration (ν19) unambiguously confirmed by ≤6 MHz (0.0002 cm(-1)) agreement with microwave ground state combination differences of McMahon et al. [Astrophys. J. 2003, 590, L61-64]. Least squares an...
